2017 Annual Dinner & Auction: "Voices of Freedom"

Thursday, October 26, 2017

The Atheneum Suite Hotel
1000 Brush Street, Detroit, MI 48226

Featuring Cleve JonesAuthor & Orgnizer, and Amy Lange, Fox2 News Investigative Reporter, as Mistress of Ceremonies

Voicing one's point of view can seem as natural as the air we breathe. Yet each day at Freedom House, the plight of our residents — the majority of whom are courageously fleeing persecution — is a sobering reminder that not all people breathe free. Guided by our belief that all people deserve to live free from oppression and injustice, Freedom House depends on the support of active citizens like you to advocate for the rights and freedom of asylum seekers, particularly those living in our shelter.  By working together, we believe our voices can help turn the tide.

We need your support to continue our mission.  Please join us for our annual Voices of Freedom dinner on October 26, 2017 at The Atheneum Suite Hotel in Detroit, featuring a special keynote address from author and human rights activist Cleve Jones.

A legendary organizer in the LGBT community, today, Cleve uses his voice to fight for the rights of immigrant workers. Through UNITE HERE! — a labor union representing 270,000 people across the nation — Cleve's work underscores the untapped strength of the immigrant community and the need for us to create strategic partnerships and wholly inclusive practices in every sector. At Freedom House, those partnerships start with supporters like you.
